Since our founding in 1921, we have responded to the various needs of our customers in the area of electric wires and cables, always asking ourselves, “What do our customers really want?” and striving to provide the right products, including transformers, reactors and wire harnesses, that will truly satisfy them.

With the rapid changes in demand in recent years, however, we now face a major turning point.

Corporate History

Nov. 1921 Established Nikkatsu Electric Wire Manufacturing Limited Partnership at 19 Mukoda, Gokisho-cho, Naka-ku, Nagoya, and began manufacturing and sales.
May 1935 Established the current joint stock company with capital of 100,000 yen and took over all business operations of the previous partnership company.
Aug. 1940 Relocated head office and factory to the current location.
May 1944 Became a subcontract factory of Nagoya Works, Mitsubishi Electric Corp.
Nov. 1945 Became a designated factory for the Ministry of Communications and began manufacturing outdoor rubber wire for communications.
Jan. 1950 Started manufacturing electric cables for export.
Sept. 1951 Increased capital to 2 million yen.
Sept. 1956 Started delivery of PVC outdoor communication cables to Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation.
Apr. 1957 Increased capital to 4 million yen.
Mar. 1958 Started delivery of steel-cored PVC outdoor cables for telecommunications to Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation.
Jul. 1966 Increased capital to 10 million yen.
Jul. 1966 Obtained permission for the use of JIS mark on our 600V vinyl electrical wires.
Apr. 1968 Became a designated supplier of OW, DV, IV, and VVF products for outsourced construction work by Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc.
Oct. 1970 Increased capital to 20 million yen.
Jun. 1971 Received the Prime Minister's Award for our efforts in promoting exports.
Jun. 1973 Obtained permission for the use of JIS mark on our vinyl cord for appliances.
May 1974 Established a joint venture, PT. EWINDO, in Bandung, Republic of Indonesia.
Mar. 1983 Started production of wire harnesses for vending machines.
Apr. 1985 Started delivery of outdoor communication cables (1P.1PS Oxotosen) to NTT.
Jul. 1989 Completed construction of new company building.
Aug. 1990 Completed construction of second factory (for the manufacture of elevator control cables).
Dec. 1991 Completed construction of dormitory.
Dec. 1995 Established a joint venture, PT. SURYAMULYABANGUNINDO, in Semarang, Indonesia.
Nov. 1999 Acquired ISO 9001 certification
Mar. 2000 Started delivery of wire harnesses for elevators.
Jul. 2005 Started business in transformers and reactors.
Mar. 2008 Completed construction of third factory (for the assembly of wire harnesses).
Aug. 2011 Completed construction of fifth factory (for the manufacture of transformers and reactors).
Dec. 2016 Acquired ISO 9001:2015 certification
Nov. 2021 Made a partnership building declaration.
Oct. 2023 Became a member of the Nagoya SDGs Platform
